Metal Bellow Mechanical Seals

Mechanical seals known as bellows mechanical seals include bellows as the spring component. The metal bellow mechanical seal eliminates the need for any type of secondary seal. They are also known as the non-pushers fields. There is a static secondary seal in the bellows mechanical seals which is in its place against the sleeve, shaft or on the gland of the pump.

The metal bellow mechanical seals are always in demand because they can handle high pressure, high temperature, vibrations, can be easily pasted, etc. Bellow mechanical seals have metal bellows instead of springs to maintain the strength of the share between the friction faces. The metal bellows mechanical seals are independent of the direction of rotation. One of the unique features of the metal bellow mechanical seal is that they have no dynamic ‘O’ring. And because of this, the seals work well, never damage the shaft & sleeves and never hang up.

Having the ability to handle corrosive as well as viscous and abrasive media, the seals also have a self-cleaning feature. The non-clogging feature of metal bellow mechanical seals makes it one of the most demanding seals in the market.

The bellow mechanical seals are mostly used instead of dynamic seals when they are not perfect for the application. The metal bellows allowed the seal to maintain a balanced position which enabled them to work under high pressure or at high revolution without any difficulty.

The metal bellow seals are mostly used in food and chemical industry. They work well with caramel, chocolate, adhesive, food pastes, melted plastics etc.

Applications

High temperature industry, petrochemical industry, Hot and cold media, Thermic Fluid, Process Pumps, mostly used for handling highly corrosive materials, other rotating pumps.
